Roger, I would recommend you avoid using meta rfereshes in this case. You would be better served using a server-side permanent redirect which sends a code (301) to the searchg engine/browser that the page has moved. Meta refreshes and temporary redirects (302) are not considered permanent, so some search engines will not index them as they are expected to change.

Using server-side redirects will also ensure that users don't run into problems using their back buttons. If you need help setting up a server-side redirect, post what server/platform you are using. :)

Thanks!

I would appreciate it very much if you could guide me, yes. I am new to this but I think the answer to your question is that my host uses apache/unix.

Roger, this tutorial shows how to put the redirect in place: http://www.tamingthebeast.net/articles3/spiders-301-redirect.htm

Let me know if you have any questions they don't cover,

I didn't get the access I needed from my host so I just made a index file outside my CMS and linked it into the CMS.

Thanks for your effort!

Roger, I'm glad to hear you worked it out. So you know, you should be able to put redirects in place per directory as well - without causing your host to do any work. Should you need to, just run a search for .htaccess and Google should pull up quite a few results.
