Yeh but because ezp doesn't currently support enforcing SSL over specific site areas we are forced to simply secure the entire site with the above rewrite rule, but it has this strange excel site effect. I'm no closer to an answer yet :(

We are always interested in hearing from experienced eZ PHP programmers and eZ template designers interested in contract work.
Add this as a suggestion to the bug report section. I think most people would like the ability to force SSL at certain points. Most people are using Rewrites, but it would be nice to choose that all links in a certain section are https instead of http.
