Can you be a bit more clear? Like grammatically- I mean. You say when you show this class the attribute shows up- when you show it where?

You may want to try clearing your cache and/or deleting your var directory and see if it shows up then.

Are you sure, that you "STORED" the class? If you just apply it, it would be stored as a draft, creating the effects, that you describe.
