Hi,

I also played with it, (ezpublish 3.6.5), all also worked too. But the same questions as you.. I wonder about some things on how to use it.

And one more thing:
- How to deal with images in emails?
It seems that those features, HTML (with embedded images) and HTML (with linked images), are handled but at the moment I'm not able to have anything working with it. Are those features to implement in the correspondig template, or is there a way to directly handle some related images to be attached in the email?

If someone has found more thing about using this interesting module..

Hi,

ok i will try to clear all your questions.

1. Those are for build in for further use. You already can use them and access them later in the templates for displaying additional informations.

2. For importing into the inbox ( suggestions form employees or feedback from subscribers) you need the mail import extension ( http://ez.no/community/contribs/import_export/ezmailimport ) that will handle the import of mails.

3. That we will check. If you want make a bug report out of it. There is already a category for newsletter.

4. Yes it exists. Its optionally. If ez publish users register to a subscription list the subscription is connected with the ez publish user.

5. That was a customer request. You can access this in for example in the template of the newsletter ( $newsletter ).

@Alexandre: When you want to send out the images embedded with the email you have to use an append block {append-block scope=global variable=$imageFileList}filepath_to_image;url_of_image{/append-block}. That we will defineatly make easier very soon.

I hope i answered all you open questions. Elsewise notice me :).

Hi,

I don't know if it's a good way, but I do that :

First, I create register subscription list, in the menu listmanagement. I use hash to access at this list.

Then, I add a link in a webpage :
<a href="{concat('/newsletter/register_subscription/','<newsletter list hash (e.g. 0436c54ddq324)>')}">Subscribe to the newsletter</a>

You can override the template register_subscription.tpl to have another view than the standard.

I hope that help you

Thanks,

I've managed to get the form to display by using the list ID

newsletter/register_subscription/1

But the form fields are all disabled.so I cant edit them

I would like to try the hash value approach, how do I finf the hash value?

Thanks

OK, scrap that, I worked it out.

THe problem with the fields being read only remains.

I have given the anon user unrestricted access to the newsletter module. Still the feilds are read only.

Any ideas?
