It seems that 1.4 no longer works because it makes the rendering of 3.5rc2's control panels unstable. Other than that it appears to work, though I haven't tested it very extensively. You can make 1.4 report that it's version 2.0 by doing the following:
Open /path_to_ez/extension/ezdhtml/ezxmltext/handlers/input/ezdhtmlxmlinput.php
with a text editor and replace line 151:
$version = '1.4.0';
with: $version = '2.0.0';
Please be aware that this is a crude hack and probably not very clever. You should disable the editor when you don't need it, so that the 3.5rc2 admin pages display correctly. The display problem is very apparent.
Apparently your OE licence is good for version 2, when it appears. It might be best to wait!
Thanks, The hack is working but when is the release of OE 2.0 scheduled?
Have a client feeding content into an Ez5 RC2 and I'm worry about crashes. Hope EzCrew give to us for Christmas?!!
Yeah, likewise here, so it was a bit disconcerting when OE vanished! I'm going to try the XMLArea GPL editor that's available for eZ now, I'll let you know how it works out, though I've already paid for OE for this particular site.
(BTW, when I look at this thread I see 'edit' buttons on your posts but not mine! Do you see something similar?)
I tried XMLArea before but it was not as complete as the online Editor from Ez. Nosedithor is not bad either but it doesn't work anymore with Ez 3.5 Rc2...
Hmm... just discovered that the "hacked" OE 1.4 pretending to be 2.0 doesn't seem to cause any display problems in FireFox 1.0 (under Windows at least) - in fact, the admin pages seem to work more smoothly in FireFox than in IE. I think I'll be switching!
