hmm what do you mean? I am also using webalizer but I do not do anything special with my httpd.conf, nor any other files.. For an example se here: http://www.skobba.com/usage/. If you need any of the reference file for this then just ask me.
Bascially I have done it by using default log file, only added some configuration due to virtual host. Then each night crontab is runned with:
There are many things to do to collect the correct web traffic data, and also how to set up your web analysis solution to give you the answers you need.
I'm writing a paperback about this. Will be ready in a couple of days: ”The use of WebTrends and Webalizer together with eZ publish”
I think this can be a great information-paperback for those who are not so familiar with web analysis: how to set up, configure and the daily use ++
Thanks Tore, currently I'm using nearby the same configuration.
I'm very interested in your papers Per-Espen. Please let me know when they are ready: n.leutner@all2e.com
I think the default configuration of webalizer in not as powerfull as it might be for a customer. It's to confusing for the customers with the standard cofiguration.
With a few changes reguarding the counted hits to files it would be a better "giveaway tool".
