Thanks for the response. I was able to fix the problem. Simple syntax error in my fetch statement. I still feel the documentation should include version information on functionality.

Indeed, I agree with you. In the latest community newsletter I've read they're going to split the docs into branches for eZ publish 3.7 and 3.8, but that alone won't be enough, because sometimes new functionality is added in maintenance releases of the stable branches (an example: the is_selected_method parameter for the treemenu template operator, see http://ez.no/doc_hidden/ez_publish/technical_manual/3_6/reference/template_operators/miscellaneous/treemenu).
