First of all, please note that the eZ Publish 3.3.x series is very old and not supported any more for a very long time. I hope you are just installing it for upgrade purposes and not to start a new site with :)
Which version of MySQL are you using? Could be related: http://ez.no/developer/forum/install_configuration/mysql_errors_in_3_10
It's best that you enable the debug output, so warnings, errors and notices are displayed at the bottom of the page for debugging purposes. See http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/current/reference/configuration_files/site_ini/debugsettings/debugoutput. Also make sure you turn on PHP's display_errors directive and set error_reporting to E_ALL.
The reason I'm installing 3.3.4 is to practice upgrading eZ Publish to the current version.
Does anyone know why I'm getting this error?
Also, there is a 'socket' field that I leave blank when I try to connect to the database. It says '(optional)' next to the socket field, so, obviously, I don't need it, but is there something I can put in there that will help me connect?
Remember, we're doing this on a Windows 2003 box (not an option to use Linux, sorry). Thanks.
Josh
