Check out the memory_limit in your php.ini file. If you don't have access to this file on the server, send an email to the server-admin and ask(maybe he'll increase it for you).
eZ publish needs a lot of memory, so put this to at least 20M. If you are going to have A LOT of content in your db, you need to increase it even more.
