eZ Publish is an enterprise cmf (f= framework) solution, a somewhat larger and more complex cms then the ones you mentioned. eZp is also more company developed then most other cms's that tend to be community developed, making it more suited for, well enterprise.
But I totally agree that eZp could be a lot more microsoft'ish / easy setup / more click and run terminology. And they are working on that to, but their primary goal is making eZ publish the number one enterprise cms.

But without some more information on what kind of server your have and errors you get, don't expect an clear answer..
