You didn't say which windows version you are using so I gonna assume you're using nt/2000/xp.
Just reinstall your previous mysql as a service and it should work fine again.
1. Start->Run->cmd.exe 2. cd path\to\mysql\ 3. mysqld-nt.exe -install4. net start mysql
Remember also to set the correct path in c:\WIN_DIR\my.ini where WIN_DIR is your windows directory.
