Hi again!

I have checked the log in eZ's VAR directory, and all i can fing (cleared the log, then tried to open the page) is:

[ Mar 22 2006 23:26:06 ] [127.0.0.1] Connection error: Couldn't connect to database. Please try again later or inform the system administrator.
Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
[ Mar 22 2006 23:26:07 ] [127.0.0.1] Server variable 'HTTP_USER_AGENT' does not exist
[ Mar 22 2006 23:26:08 ] [127.0.0.1] Connection error: Couldn't connect to database. Please try again later or inform the system administrator.
Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
[ Mar 22 2006 23:26:12 ] [127.0.0.1] Server variable 'HTTP_USER_AGENT' does not exist
[ Mar 22 2006 23:26:13 ] [127.0.0.1] Connection error: Couldn't connect to database. Please try again later or inform the system administrator.
Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

I can't really figure this out. Why does it tell me that I couldn't connect to database?
I have tried the bundeled installation before, and I remember that I configured my database connection in step two.

I've had this problem, Apache was crashing. I could not track down the cause of this error, but changing the apache version from 2.0.55 to 2.0.54 did fix it.

Hi Vidar,

eZ publish works fine on Apache 1.3.34 on Windows platform. There was bug in PHP 4.4.2 for Windows which affects fopen function so eZ publish installation caused problems. Try upgrade your PHP to latest version snaps.php.net or try with 4.4.1.

Hi everyone!

Thank you very much for all replies!
The solution for me was to install PHP 4.4.1 on my Windows machine, because I couldn't
get eZ to run with PHP 4.4.2. (I tried to install the latest PHP 4.4.2 as Lukasz said, with no luck).

Regards
Vidar
