Welcome on board. I'm new here myself, can't say much except that what you want to do is probably possible, but finding out how will take some work and experimentation. I'm trying to join the dots between bits and pieces of information related to forms and form handling in custom classes myself at the moment.
Anyway, on a more constructive note, the email class in eZComponents might be worth investigating.
