Here's one possible sollution:

1) make link on every image to go to content/view/full for that image
2) in content/viewfull do this:
- count the hit for this node using extension ezstats (it's in contib here on ez site)
- redirect the user to the apropriate page using redirect extension (also in contrib)

for this to work you should add an URL attribute to your image class where you can write the URL the user is redirected to.
