Hi,

This is drving me nuts...

I have the corporate demo, the root folder is called home. I want to add more content to the home page, more text and graphics etc. Any image or article I create within the root folder then appears within the navigation which i dont want.

I just want to customise the info on the homepage.

Please some pointers would be really appraciated.

Thanks, Steve

When the url is / you can use the indexpage settings in site.ini to change which page that is going to be shown as default. This is probably the quickest fix for you.

Some sites also use the root folder as the actual frontpage ( we have that here on ez.no ), so that the ez.no path element of this site is actually the root folder just renamed.

Bard,

Many thanks for your reply.

OK, so I can add IndexPage=/content/view/full/<my-homepage> into site.ini - the issue I've had with this, is because the corporate site navigation autogenerates itself using the folders etc it finds in the root folder - if I create a new article I want to display using this method, it ends up becoming part of the navigation.

Again, with your second point. I'd like to keep the root node as the homepage, and add images or articles ot the homepage that i can then manage and incorporate into this page as i wish... Again, the problem for me is that the navigation autognenrates itself, so any new articles i create in root get indexed...

Is there a way of creating new articles etc that do nt get included in the site navigation without having to hard code the navigation (like you do in the site demo)?

Steve.

Hi,

Managed to find a way of gettnig what i wanted!

Have basically hard coded the top level navigation of the corporate site so that I can use the content function - so the links that appear at the top of the page arent generated dynamically, you have to add them (same as the site build demo) - but the subnavigation still runs dynamically...

Hope have explained that OK...

Steve
