Hi steve.
I try to make a newsletter systeme and I think we have the same difficulties.
-I 've create a user group (newsletter receivers).
-I have a newsletter class (where is the content I want to send)
-I create a workflow that send the content to all group when the trigger is: edit the class newsletter.

and that works fine.

Hi!

I've been working on a method that could be useful for you, Steve. I've made an extension that handles custom forms. This gives the possibility to make buttons that triggers any action you are able to make in php.

If you are interested, I can upload the code when I get home from my small vacation later this week.

A second solution could be to make a new content class "newsletter". You type in the text and publish your newsletter as an object on your site, and then sets the mailinglist-trigger to be triggered when new objects of class "newsletter" are published. The mailinglist-function would then use your new newsletter-object as its content.

Hope I didn't misinterperate your question, and written something totally irrelevant here ;)

Anyway, creating a new class might be a better solution for your project, I think.
