Yes exactly. I'd like to set permission per an attribute (or a certain group of attributes).
I suppose this could be done with a custom module at the moment (that'd take the input, create a new draft of the published version and only update certain fields). But I'd rather have it as a core functionality.
It's been discussed before: http://share.ez.no/forums/setup-design/is-it-possible-to-edit-only-1-attribute-of-a-contentobject
I see the point. A workaround could be to use custom edit templates, showing only the authorized attributes for the current user (requires a custom module with functions and limitations on those, checked against when displaying the template through a custom operator), and maybe double check on this all with a custom edit handler in the back-end ?
Also, coupling this with the concept of 'Category' (per attribute in the class edition interface, one can choose a 'category' since 4.3 iirc) could improve usability fo rth eones configuring access control.
Have you spotted any related issue/request for enhancement there : http://issue.ez.no/ezpublish ? If not, filing one would be nice :)
Cheers !
