Many, many people have asked this before. And each time, eZ replies that within 2 month the pdf documentation will be ready. Without good documention (i.e. the reference guide that can be printed out), users are obstructed in learning and working with the system. I'm afraid it's their policy. I hope I'm wrong, but eZ should than come up with a real explanation. So my question is:
The reference guide is on the internet, so why not in pdf???
The current state of the document is far better than to have nothing and wait for another 2 month.
I just want to clearly say that it is not our policy in any way to keep back information. Our core values are to share inforamtion, and we know it is very important for us and the popularity of eZ publish that people are able to learn and use the system. We are and will try to share as much as possible, for example all documentation is written on eZ.no for everybody to read and comment. But we also acknowledge that there still are lots of things that we can improve in the documentation, and with the excellent pdf export feature of eZ publish we will make it downloadable as pdf. This will come, but I can not promise when, as we now are very busy with 3.4 release, which will be out in beginning of June. Please be patient...
