Hi,
I had same exact problem while back and it came down to how you're displaying text/content.
I had to show content in these formats in different given situations:
{$:item.data_map.intro.content.output.output_text}
{$matched_node.object.data_map.title.content|wash}
and the normal:
{attribute_view_gui attribute=$matched_node.object.data_map.intro}
As it depends on how what type the field is and which is the best to display its content...

It seems that IE does not handle 'entities though ....

but maybe something can be done on XMLtext conversion, because it is there that the ' is generated. it happens in HTML texts and those entered via OE. is there a way to force XML text to convert ' to say, ' ?
