The idea is get an existing API for Facebook, Linkedin, etc, and make some wrapper for eZ publish. You can use mine as a base for create your own extensions.
In TwitterBlock case I found a javascript : http://code.google.com/p/twitterjs/ , this javascript makes exactly what you want, but to Twitter, I think you can found one for your favorite social network.
