with the final release we will publish a documentation that should answer those questions.
How you set up the cronjobs is described in the install guide we published with the beta [1]. In the subscription lists you can add the subscribers which will receive the newsletters. If you already have a list of recipients you can use the CSV import.
In short the process to create a newsletter could be:
* Ensure you have created a subscriptionlist and a newsletter type
* Choose newsletter_issue as valid content class in the newsletter type
* Create some articles in the content (topics)
* In the view of the type klick on create newsletter.
* Now you should have a view with 3 boxes in the middle. One to define the send date, design and output format. Then the a new object of the type newsletter_issue. And a box 'recurrence' which you don't need in your case.
After you filled all needed fields you can publish it. When you now run the cronjob the newsletter will be send. Note you can also send a preview before you publish it.
Thanks a lot!!!!
It's ok!
I didn't know how to run the cronjobs but I downloaded php cli... After a lot of time in modifying files and mading all the manipulations Tobias wrote, it's all right!!
The design of the newsletter is not very good but I can send it, I'm happy!! ^^ If someone has some suggestions about it...
you can use the "category" field for your own purposes. I think about removing it for the future. It isn't used by anyone yet.
To ensure that the people don't get it in their spambox you should ensure that the sending host is the MX for the sending domain, and that you don't use a grey or blacklisted mailserver, avoid dialin connections for sendouts... Those are the most important points.
What does it mean "you should ensure that the sending host is the MX for the sending domain"? ("what is MX??). Moreover I've got a black/robinson list but I don't use it...
that is hard to explain. Because of that I would point you to the wikipedia description of MX record [1]. You should ask your hoster if he had setup the MX correctly and if the sending host is entered in the nameserver.
@daniele: Are you so kind and open a new thread? Because that question is a bit off topic here. And please describe there as well what you have already done and if you used the setup wizard or done something else.
