instead of using the information collector you could users let create content objects of your content class "job application" (or whatever).
You can setup permissions to allow this either in the "Anonymous" role or in another appropriate role.
I addition you might want to set up notification on the folder containing the resumes for those people in your company who should know about incoming resumes.
