Btw. I've used Domeneshop.no a lot. Here you can get hosting for your site for a few hundred NOK pro year.

Compared to webdeal, the prices are much lower if you choose Domeneshop:

But I'm not sure about which of the two are the best when it comes to speed..
How is the speed at webdeal?

I have tried all of the options mentioned above. And I really would recommend to rent a dedicated server. This is because Ezpub takes a lot of the servers resources, and if sharing this with 100`s of others - the speed will be drasticly infected.

Iam renting a dedicated server now, and pay about 30 bucks a month - loadtime with all cache and compiling on - is about 0,15 sec.

But, by renting a dedicated server - you should of course have some experience managing and maintaing a server, or else it could get very expensive in the end.

As a admin in a hosting company, I must say EZ publish is really picky.

Our customer required me to install it on a shared server. I downloaded the newest 3.8.1 and found out it only support 4.4, not 4.3, not 5. Php 5 has came out so long time and most of our new servers has installed 5. Finally I put it on a old PIII. Oh boy, this EZ publish is eating so much CPU. I am suggesting the guy to get a dedicated server now.

Ted,

What did you do? Did you get a dedicated server? If yes, are you managing it yourself?

Please update us?

Thank you

Dedicated server is the way to go. Get a managed one if you can't be bothered/don't have time to do all the dirty maintenance work with it (it can be quite a lot).

Steph A: Where did you get a dedicated server for $30 a month? That's almost creepingly cheap!

Ted,

I've used 3 different hosts for EZP. Datapipe and Rackspace offer high-end dedicated hosting (which is expensive: $300 USD /mo and up).

http://www.rackspace.com

The third option is a Virtual Private Server from Verio. You can start at $89 USD/mo and spend up to $200 USD/mo.

All three of these hosts provide excellent support. However, I would investigate WebDeal first, since they are an EZ Partner that fine-tunes their systems for EZ hosting. I will try them next.

I've got eZpublish running on a reseller account over at eleven2.com and have found it to run realy well and quickly. http://www.eleven2.com

Obviously the eZ partners are perfect for hosting eZpublish, but for those of us with a rather smaller budget a reseller account can work well (and is only about $20/month).

Tim: I was just looking at the options here for a very low bandwidth site that won't be able to support $50/mo or more. While reviewing eleven2, which starts at $7/mo, I see that they are currently having major difficulties (and have been for a few days). Are you still happy with the service? Has your service been affected?

If you need hosting for your Ez clients...

I'd like to introduce Rackspace Managed Hosting who already host solutions for Ez Partner clients.
