You should take a look at http://projects.ez.no/ezstarrating ( to get it to work, you'll also need http://projects.ez.no/ezjscore ).
It's a ajax rating extension with fetch functions to fetch nodes by rating. It has a rating from 1-5. If you give us some feedback on what you need (you mentioned 1-10), then we might be able to include that in this upcoming version.
EDIT: actually, hot or not scripts have a couple of other things other then rating which would fall outside the scoop of the starrating extension. And that is the random showing stuff to rate, and being able to filter on category (typically gender). So sounds like a new extension built on top of ezstarrating is needed for that piece, anyone up for that?
