Some new things are covered on 3.4, but it is largely based on 3.3 (the things that were known a few months ago), but not all due to the editing/review/editing...process. Updates will probably better matched against newest releases. In essence, much of what is in the book is written from scratch.... a long and painful boot process (at least for me)
The core functionality of ez publish of course is the same for 3.4. I don't know the policy on updates (I mean more than errata), maybe consult packt publishing:
I wrote the extensions chapter from the point of view of 3.2. Initally the book was to have been launched in January, just after 3.3 came out, so 3.2 was made the target.
Although we are now at 3.4 the extensions chapter should hold up.
