I'm working on that for our projects, and i started an extension to allow that. basically it works just like the provided feature, but it addd the posibility to send mails when a collab item is commented, approved or rejected.
work is in progress though, but the main part of the code is finished. i need to update readme file, add some templates and add proper doc to the files.

Maybe you may need to take a look to the emails templates, cause they probably contain not very correct english sentences... and probably spanish words too. i haven't found the time to finish all this yet.
But you can give it a try and share your experiences. any comment would be appreciated.
