Since we have a lot of problems with the svn, we have the following plan:
- upgrade to latest svn in the near future (0.28 was released today) - Create a svn mirror which all of you with read-only access can use.
The last i heard was that svn itself was causing lots of problems under load. This means ez cannot work with it if others are downloading all the time. Svn 0.28 was due to be installed (currently its 0.23) but i don't know if this would make any difference...
Svn is still alpha software... Some months away from being 1.0, from the subversion.tigris.org page.
Any change of rsyncing the svn contents to another server and then allowing read only from that for end users..It could be an hourly job no need for hot sync
or..
set aside a time say 4am when svn is made available for 2 hours, we can then set cron jobs to update whilst you sleep.
Please let us know as we rely on SVN to see updates.

The svn was closed again due to many problems with having it open externally. We will open it again as soon as we upgrade it to 0.28.
We suspect the problem is that some people are using a client with different version number than the server which causes the server to crash somehow. The newest version of svn (0.28) has some checking of client version and should remedy this problem.
We are also thinking about creating a read-only repository for external checkouts, this will reduce both the load on the server and the bandwith used.
There's a couple of bugs in my rev, I know of being fixed by now... I'd love to have the current version sooooo badly ;(
BTW: What is the best way to update ones eZP installation with svn? Would it be save to checkout into the already existing installation, which is not a svn checkout directory? I definitely need to preserve my overrides and .appends!
Thanks guys! t
