This module (among several others) has been deprecated with the move to eZ Publish 4.0

It was created in a different time to fill a different need.

Today it would require significant development by a competent eZ Certified Developer to continue to support it's serving this limited purpose.

You may not want to understand or listen but ... This code is not worth saving in its current form.

This solution (pdf module) should be re-designed and created to better serve the general user base of eZ Publish.

Contribute funding to the related open funding project [1] or create your own eZ Component.

In other words: the current pdf functionality is deprecate because it doesn't support utf8 properly, caused by the underlying php functions it's using.
The replacement is the one Heat links to.
