eZ publish can't get a connection with your database. Check that the database is actually running and that you can log in to it with the parameters you provide to eZ publish. If that is the case check if your database is running on the normal port etc. To be sure you can provide the path to the socket file if your sql server is on the same machine.
I am having the same problem. I can successfully connect with the information provided both from command line mysql on the localhost and also via phpmyadmin on another host. If I provide "root" username and password then the ezpublish wizard connects fine.
We're a webhost and looking at supporting ezpublish - obviously we don't want clients needing root access to MySQL to set it up!
Any suggestions? Running on w2k3sp1, apache 2.0.55, mySQL 4.1.15, PHP 4.4.1.
I'm aware of the supposed problems with apache 2.0 and ezpublish - is this one of them?
ok, problem was solved using the "old_password" function described elsewhere. The server running phpmyadmin was running PHP 5.0.3. The server running ezpublish was running PHP 4.4.1.
Have the problems with ezpublish and PHP 5 been resolved? Would be nice not to have to run different versions.
