Hi John

At this stage EZ tries to download this package from the internet. So make sure that you have an internet connection and that there is no firewall blocking the access.

If you are up for a bit of experimenting, you can try to download the packages here: http://ez.no/download/ez_publish/ez_publish_3_stable_releases/3_9/packages and then use the package upload option, but I am not sure at all whether this works. There is most likely a good reason why the link to these packages is not on the download page ...

Good luck

Claudia

Thanks Claudia, I have tried again and my connection to the internet is just fine. My system also says that It has downladed the package "ezwebin_site", although the system at the same time telles me that it's not imported. And there I am. Stuck. It's impossible to go further on, 53 % is my final end...I just can't get any further...

Hi John

Does the webserver has the right permissions on the var and extension dir?

Hello!

I have the following permissions:

Var:
drwxrrwxrwx

Extension:
drwxrrwxrwx

Settings also have these permission and, as far as I can tell, this is 777 and should be as ready as possible?

This just won't work. I also tried to install eZ 3.9 without the Website Interface, but that didn't work either. It's just impossible to get any further on than 53 %. I am completely lost. Should I return back to 3.8.6?

Hi John

Could you enable full debug output and try again? Maybe there are some interesting messages there. As there are no siteaccesses yet you either have to change the settings in settings/site.ini directly (this works, I have tried it) or create an site.ini in the override folder (not sure whether this works, maybe the overrides are not checked yet at this stage).

Post any interesting messages here.

Also check whether the folder /var/storage/packages/ez_systems/ contains the downloaded packages (which should be already extracted)

Hi Claudia!!

Finally I solved the issue. I was a bit too fast this morning, and I installed the rc01 -version, not 3.9.0

That was it ... Now it's working ok and I am looking forward to crawl into the skin of it. Thank you for all concern!! :-)

First of all: Merry Christmas !

Second: related to Ez 3.9 installation I got the same problem as described above. Yes, I have read the messages following the report - with no avail.

I am stuck at 53 %, where I am asked for the site package.
I am trying to run Ez publish 3.9 (final release) on Debian Etch RC1 GNU/Linux Kernel 2.6.18, Apache 2.2.3 prefork MySql 5 php 4.4.4.

I downloaded to my desktop all the ez packages from: http://packages.ez.no/ezpublish/3.9/

When prompted for Ez package (at 53%) - I choose BROWSE - got to my desktop select ezwebin_site.ezpkg and then chose UPLOAD.

Mesage: Upladed file is not an EZ publish package.

I tried with all other files with the same result and mesage.

The dialog box does not have option to browse the web (to point to a website) for download. If you chose browse - a local file browser is opened so I do not know how you guys were saying you can point directly to the website (or the ez installation does on its own) - it did not happen in my case.

I will appreciate any feedback.

Respectfully,

Acu

I FOUND THE SOLUTION: the access to the ez publish folder was READ ONLY (as it was created as root). If I change the PERMISIONS to the folder the installation proceeded as should have been

Hi Acu, welcome to the eZ community. A merry christmas for you too!

Have you read this topic: http://ez.no/community/forum/install_configuration/uploaded_file_is_not_an_ez_publish_package ? Maybe the zlib PHP extension isn't enabled on your server.
