The simplest way to do this is to use the eZ installation wizard, it will download and automatically install the website interface extension and needed packages.

Download and extract your fresh eZ version and point your browser to the folder where you have extracted it, and the wizard will be automatically fired up.

Doing it manually is a bit more complicated.

Hi, I've already installed eZpublish 3.10.0 with the plain_site option.

I would prefer not to re-install again as I have to get my web hosts to chown directories
and fix permissions which take ages!

Any other way?

Thanks,
Michael

What I've done in the mean time is gone to

http://packages.ez.no/ezpublish/3.10/3.10.0/ and saved down all the packages.

Then went to Setup -> Packages -> Install and installed each one.

Would have thought i'd have a design/ezwebin/ and /settings/siteaccess/ezwebin folder
and could then point the frontend and backend to the new package but no such luck..

What am I doing wrong here?!

Thanks,
Michael

You don't need to delet the installation to reinstall.
The folders/files you need to delet:
settings/siteaccess/plain_site*
settings/override/*
var/plain_site/*

But ezwebin+ezpublish needs write permission to the following folders during install:
design/*
extension/*
settings/*
var/*

just so you know.

EDIT: the packages dosn't creat content / siteacess etc for you, thats done by the installer.

The setup wizard can be fired up again without reinstalling:

<i>Please note that it is possible to restart the installation wizard after its successful finishing by specifying "CheckValidity=true" in the "settings/override/site.ini.append.php" file so that the setup wizard will be initiated when trying to access the site.</i>
