It would be useful with some more information about your installation to help you solve your problem.
Your write that you "can't install eZ publish", those this mean that you got your error already before you run the setup wizard ?
If you could finish the setup wizard, you should check if you can open this URL: http://your_domain_name/index.php/content/view/full/2/ this is the root folder of a plain eZ publish installation and should been showed correctly.
