Does this happen on the ever first load of the user site? Have you tried to clear the cache and try again... Perhaps you could check the server logs to check if there is a high memory load.
Sometimes on my sites, the first time ez publish loaded the user/admin site there was a high memory usage and blank pages appeared.
If I get it installed anyway on my webspace (only sometimes), I can use either front-, or backend, but not both. The only error in the logs is a "Fatal error - emalloc() unable to allocate xx bytes"
I'm a new user to eZ Publish, and have been having the same problems (Apache 2.2.4, PHP 4.4.7, MySQL 5.0.37); looking at other posts, I've found that adding:
AcceptPathInfo On
To the httpd.conf file fixes most of the problems (I've also upped the php.ini memory limit to 256M, but am reluctant to leave it at that level for any length of time).
I have resolved the problem by reinstalling ezPublish on my WestHost VPS account. Previously I downloaded Windows .ZIP ezPublish package and unzipped it locally and then uploaded to my VPS space, which might be the cause of the problem. I recently downloaded .tar.gz file through SSH terminal, and then everything works OK including both Admin and User sites.
