So if I upload over the files will I lose my work i've already done on my site.I've put in hundreds of hours work and don't want to risk looseing it or will it just leave all my links folders and galleries where they are.
Before you upgrade, _always_ make a backup. In your case, everything will go smoothly provided that you did not change any of the original files that came with rc2. If you did, you could always restore these from your backup. Your content is in the database and will not be altered.
