Did you get anything in place for the special french characters such as é or è? Maybe it's a problem with the charset.

Unfortunatly not, the special french characters are just gone !But the biggest problem is probably the admin interface : I cannot edit the content of objects containint a XML Block : the edit page contains no field at all !

From and to which version of eZ publish are you upgrading? Any upgrades on the database-side to?

Hi,
I solved my problem, by re-importing the data with the proper French settings in site.ini
ContentObjectLocale=fre-FR
