After you have "logged in" and get the loginpage once again, are you able to access these sites in the following, if you write yourdomain/content/view/full/2, or yourdomain/setup/menu in the addressbar in your navigator?

No, but I can see the navigation systems (Content/Media/Shop/Set up/Personal, and Frontpage/Sitemap/Trash/Bookmarks/History) When I click them, it simply refreshes the page...

Ah, didn't see that you got Access denied at the user site too.
Is this a new installation? Or...?

Check that your database-settings is correct in your site.ini. file.
I earlier god access denied when I had no database-connection.
Or, give me your URL and I'll check.

The database settings (settings/site.ini) are correct, that doesn't seem to be the issue

>>When I log into the admin section with the correct password, I simply get returned to the login page.
>>When I enter with the wrong password, I get an Access Denied.

This tells me that the database is being accessed...it must be something else...

Has the system ever worked for you? Or is this a fresh installation?

What is your settings for the IndexPage in the site.ini.append file in your siteaccess/yourdir?

Like this?
[SiteSettings]
IndexPage=/content/view/full/2/

Thanks for your help Zinistry>>>

Finally fixed it...

I ended up updating the 3.4 database from an old backup and it worked!

The problem started when I decided to add a package through the admin (Set up/Advanced/Packages) section - the Gallery package, which changed my content object tables in the database (I assumed it wouldn't overwrite existing ones).

I tried it again and same problem, this time i reloaded my database, cleared caches, and restored ini files and back to normal - so i only lost a few days work, after restoring from the old backup database!

Back in action!

Well done.

I hit a similar bug a while ago:

http://ez.no/community/bug_reports/import_routine_merges_new_class_with_existing_class

but i didnt think it was connected to your problem :( it seems the problem goes further than what i encountered.

Thanks Paul ;)

Did you find a workaround? Really want to get a working gallery integrated...
