I suggest you to install Andre's contrib :
http://ez.no/community/contribs/applications/ezjaxx_ajax_extension
That loads the menu only when needed (ajax).

This extention isn't a stable version, if you're in a production configuration I suggest this
http://ez.no/community/contribs/hacks/ajax_treemenu_on_demand_tree_menu
but the ezjaxx_ajax is more powerfull ;)
