Ah, that's good to know. I figured it could be a pretty common request, but I haven't figured out how to pull it off. How'd you do it on your site? Thanks much.
1. Create a copy of pagelayout.tpl with a new name
2. Modify the new pagelayout.tpl so it shows the static content
3. Create a new node (I tend to use folders, but you can use whatever you want) at the location I want the page to appear.
4. Set up an override for that specific node, using the new pagelayout.tpl 5. Reset the caches and navigate to that node to ensure the right template is used.
