I found the solution to my problem.
In pagelayout.tpl there is a line of code indicating to add extrainfo. I changed that into noextrainfo and all is displayed as I like it now.
Although I still don't exactly know why all the 'ifs' were fulfilled to trigger this extrainfo, I can do with this solution for now.
So if anyone can point me to some documentation where I can learn about this, much appreciated.
