Yes, you can use eZ publish for such a setup. You can do this by creating two classes; article and page.
The navigation would be done much like we've done in the gallery demo:http://demo.ezpublish.no/content/view/slideshow/18/offset/1
If you replace the images with the page class you have a multipage setup in eZ publish.
