Haven't got a clue - my IE 5.5 hangs forever. In the status bar I have:
Downloading picture (5 items remaining) http://xxxxxx/name_of_a_picture
Ohhh - this is horrible - I have the same error on my localsetup
Just told someone that I could make them an image gallery :(
----Restarting IE fixed the problem - so your page triggers a bug in IE
Did you try substituting the images with something else (just to find out if it is something in the image itself that triggers the problem) ?

I opened the images with MS Paint and saved them. With the "new" images it works. But I don't know why the IE won't load any images after visiting this page. Strange...

Might be this http://ez.no/developer/ez_publish_3/bug_reports/gif_images_converted_to_png_incorrectly
Rest assured eZ does handle image correctly. It might be your setup.
