Did you install the extension in the ezpublish/extensions folder, and enable the extension in the active extensions section of the site.ini? If it was installed or configured only for a specific site (siteaccess) it might cause this problem.
Also, the editor is only active for xmltext-type fields in your class. Make sure that your classes have one of these for the editor to work.
