This is of course possible, eZ publish is template base so you can easily change content presentation.
You will need to fetch products and display them in two columns. Code example how to display content in columns you can find in design/standard/templates/node/view/sitemap.tpl.
John, I suggest to take a tutorial "Building an eZ publish site", this will gave you basics, and knowledge how to use eZ publish, and how to work with templates, after that you will be able to build new website with eZ publish ;)
