You could use different siteaccesses for different types of users.
For example:
site.com/ez/index.php/plain/user/login
-- and --
site.com/ez/index.php/premium/user/login

Ah, the second thing I have requested this week that'll show up in 3.8 :) Looks like I'm looking forward to that release!
