With quick look in the transform.ini, the [urlalias_iri] section is the new url aliases (with the new "-"), and the [urlalias_compat] is the old one, with "_".
If you have troubles during an upgrade, you should keep the urlalias_compat section instead of the new one, I suppose.
Try to modify the Commands[] under [urlalias_iri] to reproduce the [urlalias_compat] behavior.
Your post here has saved lot of time. Thanks mate... upgraded to 3.10.0 without any error and the most time consuming job - > nice urls working now...
Public and Adminstration sites working....
One thing mate if you can help me....After the upgrade I am not getting anything in Setup -> packages... In the original 3.6.1 install there were three packages, two were some classes and one was the site style.... and even there is no thumbnail in the sitestyle if you go to Design -> Look and feel.... Have you experienced this on your upgradation steps.....
There was no package in the original site, so...
But thumbnails are also missing in the look and feel page. Probably just a path problem or missing images :)
Acutally the thing is i imported two classes from some other install but same version. So there were two classes, and another site style which I exported from my development pc to the live one, there were three packages...
I dont think any images missing, it is not retriving the site style at all....
But the whole site is working. so same thing at yours as well...

Did your upgrade from 3.10.0 to 4.0.0 go well??? Any thing specific to be taken care of? Do I need to run again updateniceurls.php and udatetipafriendpolicy.php while upgrading??
In the documentation they are not recommending the upgrade from 3.10.0 to 4.0.0, insisting to wait for 4.0.1. Mate what you reckon?
