You need to tweak the ini settings to get previews to work correctly. Read:

http://ez.no/ez_publish/documentation/day_to_day_use/preview_your_content

http://ez.no/community/bug_reports/admin_previews_shouldnt_need_other_siteaccess_overrides

This is the last step that I need to complete a project - getting the preview button to show an accurate preview of the site. I have done the following:

(The site name is dms and dms_admin, and it uses the dms2 design)
-Set the correct user design (dms2) as an AvailableSiteDesignList item in the dms_admin content.ini.append, second in the list after admin
-Set the DefaultPreviewDesign=dms2 in the same content.ini.append (for dms_admin)</li>
-Left the dms_admin override.ini.append as the default, with the exception of one override of the admin interface which works properly
-Cleared the cache

The symptoms are:
-Pages that use the default classes display their previews correctly. They appear as they do on the user site, with the addition of the Site Design pull down and some other buttons below.
-Pages that use custom classes display a "Default Object View - Click here to create a custom template"
-If I add an override for these classes (copied from the user site override.ini.append) the overrides affect the admin in such a way that the admin interface breaks (either no page is displayed at all, or only the tabs and left menu are displayed with no content depending on which class is being viewed).
-The correct pagelayout.tpl for the preview is used, but the specific pagelayouts such as pagelayouthome.tpl and others are not correctly displayed when the should be (one is a class override and the other is a node override for the home page).
-Preview pages do not correctly show the context within the site in the breadcrumb trail navigation, or in the treemenu navigation. This is not too big of a problem, though.

If I click on the Create a custom template link on the preview pages which have the default object view, and create a new override that way, it does not have any effect on the preview (still default object view)

Running v 3.3-4 on Win2000

Any help or insight from someone who has previews working would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark
