The following list summarizes the tips that you are recommended to apply to your system's certification and accreditation activities.
- Become very familiar with DOD Information Assurance guidelines, regulations, and policies.
- Plan for information assurance initiatives from the beginning of any project and throughout the system's life cycle.
- Ensure that you have proper documentation.
- Ensure that you have scheduled appropriate time, money and resources to support certification efforts.
- Review the Security Technical Implementation Guides and Security Configuration Guides for technologies used to support your system ahead of time, and be prepared for your interview with the Certifying Authority.
- Make sure the Certification Package is complete and correctly prepared.
